When I was brought to hospital with covid last august, I lay in the emergency section. Cables everywhere, infusion, bad shape, high fever, little breath, oxygen. They kept me as I had covid pneumonia.
Suddenly the room was empty. The doctor and nurses had left. The doctor said: i will be back in a few minutes. I was all alone. Complete silence. Then I saw Paramahamsa vishwananda appearing in his subtle form. He came to me and placed his hands over my chest, filled it with violet blue light. He stood there for around 20 mins.
Vishwananda
I drifted away, saw myself walking in a mountain area full of rocks and stones. It was very hot there. I walked in the plane sun. He walked next to me. When it got steeper, He took my hand and pulled me up…
Then I was back in the room in the emergency section. Guruji was gone. The doctor and nurses came back, continued their treatment.
I knew that Guruji was in an airplane at this very same time, flying from Africa to Germany.
In the evening He called me by phone. I told him that i had seen him. He smiled. “YES, I was there with you”.
Paramahamsa Vishwananda is with his devotees constantly. If life requires it, we surely have to climb up mountains. But He is climbing up there with us. I stayed in hospital, it took a while till I was fully recovered.
I am blessed to know Guruji since almost 18 years. He was always there, always helped, always loved, no matter what came across.
And He does so for so many people.
A Guru Is A Teacher
We have many in our lives. Dogma refers to the doctrine of belief in a religion. Then there is the Satguru, a person who is considered to have achieved enlightenment and can help others attain the same. The word “Satguru” means “true teacher” in Sanskrit.
In the West, very few have experienced the presence of a Satguru, a Being who exists beyond the dogmas created by religions and spiritual paths. While dogma can be useful in explaining the steps a spiritual seeker can take to achieve different levels of consciousness or awareness of the Divine, it does not explain how to recognize a Divine incarnation. Dogma doesn’t explain how a Satguru can appear in your dreams to guide you or how such a Being can answer your private prayers in person. My first encounter with Satguru Paramahamsa Vishwananda happened after He orchestrated a series of events that led to our meeting.
Mahavatar Babaji
I had been following Mahavatar Babaji for many years, and it was His guidance that took me to India to become a sannyas. One day at the Ujjain Kumbh Mela, I was walking through the crowd when Babaji walked past me. He whispered His name in my head and sent a massive energy surge like lightning through every cell in my body. Back at camp, my guru saw this and sent me away from the ashram with no explanation.
For years, I lived in tiny huts in remote parts of India, wondering what was happening. I had read about many gurus in the past and knew they put devotees through tests like this. I was determined not to fail.
One day, as I was preparing to fly to Sri Lanka to renew my foreign visitor’s visa, my wallet vanished. I searched everywhere but found nothing. In a panic, I got an emergency bank card and made my way across India to my country’s embassy.
Sannyas
After much red tape and fines for overstaying my visa, I tried to re-enter India with my new visa and was refused. I tried several different ports, to no avail. My emergency credit card was quickly maxing out from all the flights. The guru I followed read my messages but didn’t reply.
Bewildered, I flew back to the cold north, broke, wearing my raggedy sari and padukas. Upon arriving home, my birth family handed me some old mail they had kept for me. One letter, dated years ago, was a pension check from a company I had forgotten about. It paid off the credit card. Hari Bol!
Determined to keep my sannyas vows in a very Christian country, I carried on with my sadhana. Then, a miracle happened. I was invited to meet a guru who was making an unexpected trip to my location. I didn’t know if it was okay to visit other gurus, but mine didn’t seem interested in me anymore, so I agreed to go. I now know that true gurus or Satgurus are only interested in our progress. They aren’t looking to collect people and will often send followers to a different guru if it benefits them.
Satguru
And so, I met Satguru Paramahamsa Vishwananda. At our first meeting at the airport, He casually asked how my guru was. I said I had no idea, as I hadn’t had any communication in years. He seemed happy with this response. He asked where I was from, and when I told Him, the Rishi with Him gave me a surprised look. He later told me that the Satguru had been looking for me for a year. During dinner one night at the ashram in Germany, the Satguru looked up for a long time then said, “There’s a devotee we have to go find,” and He mentioned my location.
The night He said this coincided with the day, in India, when my wallet vanished. Years later, Babaji sent me a personal message confirming that our meeting at the Kumbh Mela was the sign I was being moved to Paramahamsa Vishwananda. This is the way of the Satguru. They never explain themselves; they help us build trust by keeping our minds confused. Sometimes they behave outside of accepted norms and are often vilified and slandered because of this. I have learned to live my life using experiential wisdom rather than rumors found on Google.
When you are graced with meeting a Being such as Paramahamsa Vishwananda, it is beyond all dogmas and rule books. It is a meeting that happens in the heart, Bhakti, and no one can tell you it’s not true.
